RE: The Surratt Courier
The late "latest" issue of the Surratt Courier for March/April 2026 has been posted. (Go easy on us, we are volunteers with little or no technological training, so there always seems to be a snag in our plans. That's life...) In any event, this issue features; the minutes of the rescheduled Surratt Society meeting on May 2; the history and families who lived at Bryantown Tavern and Cleydael -- two of John Wilkes Booth's stops on his escape route; and eyewitness accounts about the night of April 14, 1865, which were recorded a half century after Lincoln's assassination by those who were in Ford's Theatre that night. The direct link is: https://www.surrattmuseum.org/_files/ugd...68bf79.pdf
It is free and open to all. |
